Ravencon, Iconicon, Tidewater Comic Con, Megacon.... Oh My!
In the mists of madness was a month full of exhibiting, cosplaying, all-in-all geeking out!
Here's my review of each of the conventions that dEMONCH attended this past May! I wanted to give my honest opinion about what I like about the shows (things that I thought were awesome) and things I didn't like about them.
Ravencon was a 3day adventure in Williamsburg, Va. (April 29-May1)
Featuring a more Scifi & Fantasy Based demographics. Lots of SteamPunk, Victorian Goth, Gothic, Scifi based fandoms roamed the halls of this convention. Offering a array of panels to entice the fellow writer, comic book artist, and all lovers of creative awesome! This convention supplied a room full of snacks for the patrons, exhibitors, and special guests alike, so no one would go hungry or without a much needed caffeine dose.
I was able to meet the amazing gentlemen of AMA (these guys were super cool), as well as Lots of local writers in the Hampton Roads Area (my book list has increase), and some pretty amazing cosplayers!

During this convention, I decided to cosplay Luna (Her Human Form) from Sailor Moon.... I'm a huge Sailor moon Fan! So, it was very exciting bringing one of my many favorite characters from this series to life and being recognized as her.

I love this image by Indulge Images! ❤❤❤ They were rocking out at Ravencon, I was able to meet the Glamorous Patrice and the Charming Tadd! They were super sweet and did some amazing work! Check out the their website here.
As an exhibitor, I wasn't really sold on the location of the Artist Alley & Independent Press (The Upcoming Writers), it wasn't the most flattering of spaces (I was lucky enough to find a space that wasn't cramped in) and the lighting was terrible. Unlike a few of my fellow exhibitors, dEMONCH did manage to make our table back with a tiny bit extra, but I was disappointed in the lack of traffic over the 3day convention, I excepted a lot more people to attend than who was floating in and out of the halls. On the plus side, all of the Staff was super nice and did check on us from time to time.
I give Ravencon ⋆⋆⋆ stars out of five.
There's a lot of potential for this convention, it just needs the Audience.
I'm not sure if dEMONCH will be attending has an exhibitor next year, but I'm hoping dEMONCH will be able to attend the following year.

Iconicon a 1day adventure in Suffolk, Va. (May 7, 2016)
This Family Friendly Mini-Convention at the Suffolk Library, offered a small dose of what goes on at a convention with out paying the big bucks. This event was full of mini ironmans, dead pools, spiderman, and anime characters running around and looking adorable! Along with a few other exhibitors showing their products, there was nerd bingo (it was a lot of fun helping the little ones mark off a square), button crafts, sidewalk chalk, and other activities to intrigue the young minds!

Being Goofy and Rocking Some Sailor Moon! ❤❤❤❤
I was a bit bummed that I didn't cosplay but definitely next year!
As an Exhibitor, dEMONCH did surprisingly well (we honestly didn't think we would really sell that much), Stickers & Buttons where the highlight of the day. The layout was a little cramped (I think this was likely due to the weather... Virginia Weather has been horrible!), but the staff was friendly and inviting. Plus, this event was well advertised and brought in a lot of traffic!
I give Iconicon ⋆⋆⋆⋆ stars out of five.
dEMONCH will definitely return for Iconicon 2017!
